Google AI Training to Enhance Your Career Readiness
The University of Maryland, in collaboration with the University System of Maryland (USM) and Google, is excited to offer students and faculty free access to two cutting-edge Google Specializations in Artificial Intelligence.
This is a unique opportunity to strengthen your skill set, enhance your resume, and stay competitive in today’s rapidly evolving job market.
- Leverage AI tools to boost creativity, decision-making, and productivity
- Craft effective prompts to generate summaries, taglines, and other content
- Understand and mitigate AI bias to ensure ethical use
- Stay informed with strategies for keeping up in the evolving AI landscape
- Learn a 5-step method for writing effective AI prompts
- Apply prompts to streamline everyday work tasks
- Use AI to accelerate data analysis and presentation creation
- Design prompts to simulate expert conversations through AI role-play
Both Specializations are self-paced, online courses that do not require any prior experience. Each Specialization takes 4-5 hours to complete. You can anticipate completing both Specializations in 8-10 hours or 2-2.5 hours per week. Course access is made available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Once you are given access, you will have one month to complete both courses. You will automatically receive a certificate upon course completion.
Eligibility
Each semester, access to the Specializations will be made available to faculty and seniors at specific colleges and schools. Colleges and schools with less credit-bearing coursework in AI have been prioritized.
How to Enroll
Step 1: Complete the Google AI Specializations interest form
You will receive an invitation via email from your college or school to participate. The email will contain a link to the interest form.
Step 2: Accept the Coursera invitation
If your request is approved, you will receive an invitation to enroll (at the email account provided on the interest form) from Coursera. The subject of the email is “You're invited to learn on Coursera!” Click the blue “Join Now” button in the email.
Step 3: Log in to Coursera or create a Coursera account
Log in to Coursera using the same email address that received your invitation. If you do not have a Coursera account, select “Sign Up for an Account” and verify your email address, using the same email address where you received your invitation.
Step 4: Enroll in the Specialization and start your course
Select the Specialization that you would like to complete and click “Enroll.” You will have one month to complete one or both Specializations after you receive your invitation. A certificate will be issued automatically upon completion of each Specialization.
