New M.S. in Artificial Intelligence

The new Master of Science degree in artificial intelligence (AI) includes courses on the fundamentals of AI and that address the interaction between AI and humans and society. Applications for fall admission will be accepted until August 15 and no GRE is required. The new program is administered by the Science Academy in conjunction with AIM.

AI Innovation Thrives at UMD: A New Era of Engineering Education

Debuting in Fall 2025, UMD's new Engineering Artificial Intelligence master’s program offers a robust curriculum that blends foundational knowledge in machine learning, data science and computer vision with specialized tracks in areas such as generative AI, AI for robotics and embedded intelligent systems. Delivered in flexible formats online, in-person or hybrid, it caters to working professionals and recent graduates alike.
