Alyssa is the Program Director for Academic Program Operations for AIM. With expertise in academic program management and a passion for interdisciplinary collaboration, Alyssa oversees the development and coordination of academic programs focusing on the intersection of AI with other disciplines. She holds her M.A. in Higher Education ('21) and American Studies ('14) and a B.A. in Media, Society and the Arts from Purchase College, SUNY. Prior to joining AIM, Alyssa was the Assistant Director for Immersive Media Design.

Alyssa is also a Ph.D. student in the College of Information. Her research is at the intersection of video games and digital accessibility exploring how video games can be made more accessible for disabled players. Part of this research explores embodiment, play, and identity formation in virtual spaces. She also studies the long term implications of artificial intelligence (A.I.) tools and technology on the disabled community.

Outside of her academic work, she is an Associate Editor with Including Disability.

Personally, she enjoys spending time with her family and dogs (Beef and Dopey), reading, watching hockey (Go Bruins!), and playing video games. Alyssa also plays Magic: The Gathering (MTG) and mainly builds Gruul, Golgari, and mono-Black decks.
