Melissa Tellez plays a pivotal role at the Artificial Intelligence Interdisciplinary Institute at Maryland, leveraging over twenty years of academic and government administration experience. She is responsible for coordinating all of AIM’s administrative efforts, including supporting work on developing new academic degree programs, incubating innovative research and community outreach, and creating an AI hub for the College Park campus. Melissa is recognized for her proactive problem-solving skills and her ability to navigate complex administrative challenges.

In addition to her core responsibilities, Melissa is actively involved in the University’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives as a dedicated committee member. She also plays a key role in the professional development of new colleagues, providing essential training and guidance to ensure their success. Her commitment to fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and supportive environment underscores her valuable contributions to the University of Maryland community and its continued success.
